Estimated 400 Church Leaders Involved With Ashley Madison

31 Aug

Church leadership today is in a serious crisis! After national fall out from the Duggar confession, there appears to be a continuing roll out of names of other leaders who are alleged to have secretly committReuters-Ashley-Madison-Whispersed the “High Crime of Treason” against the crown rights of King Jesus.

Ed Stetzer shares an informed observation in his recent article entitled,” My Pastor is on the Ashley Madison List”.

“..Christian leaders and families are facing devastating revelation and the after-effects of public sin.

Based on my conversations with leaders from several denominations in the U.S. and Canada, I estimate that at least 400 church leaders (pastors, elders, staff, deacons, etc.) will be resigning Sunday. This is a significant moment of embarrassment for the church—and it should be.”

Stetzer is the Executive Director of LifeWay Research and  a prolific author, holding two masters degrees and two doctorates. He also serves as Visiting Professor of Research and Missiology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Visiting Research Professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

This is so sad – we need to pray for our leaders and we need to not be afraid preaching against sin form the pulpit or hearing it preached in our churches. We need to practice and accept church discipline. Judgement begins in the church 2 Chron 7:14 “”if My people!”
