Will Christianity Have A Future Or A Funeral

07 Nov

Tim Challies says of Mark Driscoll, “You may love him, you may hate him, but you’ve definitely heard of him and you’ve undoubtedly got an opinion about him.”

Well, I sure do. I love Driscoll’s character based boldness, his prowess for controversy, and his authentic gift for afflicting the status quo. As a  New York Times best-selling author, he just released his new book “Resurgence” and I believe it will serve up a much-needed dose of reality for a whacked out church world.

“Four years ago, the cover of Newsweek magazine proclaimed “The Decline and Fall of Christian America.” Their words ring disturbingly true today.  Christians are being ostracized; gay marriage is being legalized; the bandwagon has stopped carrying us and has started running us over. It’s time for all Christians to stand firm in God’s grace and begin evangelizing rather than criticizing one another.”
