Is God Pro Sex?

Pastor Ed Young recently made more news by  airing a debate about sex and adultery on HBO. For a few years now, there has been a  push by many to publicly advocate a positive view of sex in the  church which has evoked the ire of more than a few.

Let me be clear, I am not part of the controversy. I believe the marriage bed is honorable and should be proclaimed as gospel centered truth. The problem appears to be that some are  persuaded that the sex theme  isn’t something ministers  should  address in church, much less publicly advertise.

My personal perspective is that  some of these fussin christians only think about  sex when they sing the old Baptist hymn, “Precious Memories, How They Linger!”

Fox News posted this report about a non-denominational church using  five billboards to advertise a sacred view of sex. Yep, controversy erupted. Click on the churches website to view clips that address an empty sex life, stats about sex, and what sex is. You may find them to be tasteful and informative.

“Provocative new billboards placed throughout Indianapolis have drivers doing a double take.

Five billboards advertise the website: myemptysexlife.com

When people go to the site, the link brings users to The Blended Church — a non-denominational and non-traditional church that preaches, among other things, about the positive aspects of a healthy sex life within marriage, Indiana’s Fox59 reports.

However, many motorists are offended by the advertisement, saying it’s bad exposure for kids.”

Do these people who are complaining, complain about all the billboards advertising “men’s clubs?”

Goooood question Tina. Many christians watch Glee, Jersey and other goofy portrais of perverted sexual behavior. For the church to counter falaaciousness with truth seems to be more offensive. In my mind, Something is wrong with this picture.
