“ANTAGONIZ” is a greek term derived from the word group that translates into ”Contend” in Jude 3. It reflects strenuous effort put forth in the struggle to maintain guardianship of the Historic-Apostolic Gospel that’s been delivered once and for all to the stewardship of the Church.
Some may view our efforts “biblically antagonizing” while others will find them “woefully frustrating”. Either way, its our ministry!
Purpose of This Site
As one who is “Essentially Reformed” and “continuationist”, it is my desire to speak to issues that are often dismissed, neglected or ignored by our charismatic community. Though confessedly frail and often flawed, this is my own imperfect attempt to fulfill the heart of Jude summarized by his inspired passion to “EARNESTLY CONTEND FOR THE FAITH.”
The book of Jude remains one of the most “non-referenced” sources of the evangelical/charismatic world. The writer conveys an empassioned heart for the Common Salvation [the joy, benefits and blessings] but acknowledges that conditions were so dire that it imposed the necessity to shift focus to that of “Defender of the Faith”. This meant having to address false teachers and erroneous teachings undermining the integrity of organic truth.
While it would be most rewarding to focus solely on the blessings and benefits of Christ salvific work, Jude reveals that “understanding the times” calls for a redemptive shift from the positive to the negative as essential to the maturation of the saints and preservation of “historic truth”.
Contrary to post-modernism, Jude documents TRUTH to be knowable, verifiable, document-able, objective, and generationally transferable.
