On his new CNN program, Piers Morgan questioned Joel Osteen about the issue of homosexuality. For the first time, Joel answers that homosexuality is in fact a sin.
But Morgan presses Joel further by bringing up Elton John and his homosexual partner. “Why are they sinners in your eyes?” he asked Osteen.
Wow! This is awesome! The Pastor of the largest church in America is publicly invited to take the opportunity to boldly proclaim Paul’s enscripturated Gospel from the book of Romans concerning the depravity of man.
In an instant Joel Osteen has the ear of millions of unbelieving listeners both nationally and internationally. Surely he is prepared to give an articulate, word filled, spirit infused answer concerning the condition of fallen man with the hope that is found in Jesus Christ.
Did Joel lovingly and winsomely invoke “it is written” in order to explain the love of God in the cross of Christ, the substitutionary death and the powerf of God in raising Jesus from the dead as narrated by Dr. Luke throughout the book f Acts?
Weeeeell….can you say “awk–ward?”
Seems ole Joel just can’t bring himself to live out the promise of Christ to those who represent Christ and his words truthfully and courageously.
“You will be hated for my name’s sake. . . . A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. . . . If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.” (Matt. 10:22, 24-25)
Osteen’s laughable, ignorant, hollow core, empty chested, cowardly response was not only utterly shameful, but once again demonstrates why Joel should be ”behind the camera” rather than in front of one masquerading as a Spirit Empowered Minister of the Gospel!
rgh
[Morgan]…. “Why are they sinners in your eyes?”
[Joel]….”Well, it’s strictly back to what the scripture says. I mean, I can’t grab one part and say God wants you to be blessed and live an abundant life, and not grab the other part that says, you know what? You know, live that kind of life. So it comes back to the scripture. I’m not the judge. You know, God didn’t tell me to go around judging everybody.”
